When you are a college basketball student manager there are going to be some tasks that you simply have to do and learn in order to be a successful manager. First and foremost, you must have flexible hours. There have been many nights where I have been doing managerial duties as late as 3 am and as early as 6:30 am. Being flexible with your hours is a must when being a manager because with traveling and late night/early morning practices there is a lot of times where you will be up late doing laundry. Speaking of laundry that is another important task when being a manager. Some people may say well laundry thats not too bad and no some nights it really isn't that bad. Then there are nights where you are on the road and the game ends around 9:30 pm and then you don't get back to the hotel till 10:30 or 10:45. Most of the time when we get back we usually will have a post game meal and trust me you will want to eat that before you do laundry. Once it's time for laundry, you'll have to wash every players jersey and shorts, possibly their practice gear, and warm up shirts and all the other stuff they might wear in the game. Then the hard part is next finding the hotel, in which you are staying at, finding their laundry room and seeing how many washers and dryers they have available for you to use. Next important thing to being a student manager is being teachable. Now I understand not everyone gets into student managing the same reason as I do, but being able to taught something will help you go a long way in life and possibly as a coach too. Finally the last important info I am going to give you in order to be a successful student manager is being dedicated. Being dedicated is up there with laundry as one of the top important musts for being a manger. Why you might ask? Well we have had several students in my time here at App State that simply do it for the free gear and then we won't see them again. Thats why now me and my fellow student managers along with the coaches here at App made it a rule that you must earn your gear. One it proves to us that you are dedicated and two we don't just give out the gear on your first day so you have to earn it.

Nice job Daniel, I interviewed to be a student manager my freshman year and I could not commit to that rigorous schedule. Great work on the graphic!
